Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 November 2026
This policy explains what personal information Red Power Parts Limited collects when you use this website, request a quote or place an order, and what we do with it.
Who we are
Red Power Parts Limited ("we", "us") supplies industrial electrical and power components from our base in Wombwell, Barnsley. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
Registered address: Unit 6A Station Road Industrial Estate, Valley Road, Wombwell, Barnsley, S73 0BS, United Kingdom. Telephone 01226 447017. Email sales@redpowerparts.co.uk.
The information we collect
We only collect what we need to sell and deliver parts to you:
- Contact details you give us — name, company, email address, telephone number.
- Delivery and billing addresses, and any purchase order reference you supply.
- Order history, quotes, invoices and correspondence with our team.
- Payment information: card payments are handled by Stripe. We see the amount, status and a transaction reference, never your full card number.
- Website usage information — the pages you visit, the site you arrived from and a randomly generated visitor reference that is not linked to your name.
- Technical information such as browser type and approximate location derived from your IP address.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To process and deliver your order, take payment and handle returns — necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To keep accounting and tax records of sales, purchases and VAT — necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
- To answer enquiries, prepare quotes and provide technical support — our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To improve the website, understand which products are of interest and keep it secure — our legitimate interest in running our business.
- To send you occasional product or offer emails, only where you have opted in — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that has a legal effect on you.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only with the processors and partners needed to run the shop:
- Stripe — card payment processing.
- Our website hosting and database provider — secure storage of orders and enquiries.
- Couriers and Royal Mail — delivery of your order.
- Our email provider — transactional emails such as order confirmations and invoices.
- Marketplace platforms such as eBay, where you have bought a listing of ours through that platform.
- Professional advisers, and HM Revenue & Customs or other authorities, where the law requires it.
Some providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an equivalent safeguard.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep your cart and session working. These are needed for the shop to function, so they are set without asking. We also record anonymous page views so we can see which parts of the site are useful; these records are not linked to your name.
Where we use third-party analytics or advertising tools, they are only loaded after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time — the cart and checkout may then not work.
How long we keep it
- Sales, purchase and VAT records: six years from the end of the relevant financial year, as tax law requires.
- Quotes and enquiries that do not become orders: up to two years, then deleted.
- Website visit records: twelve months, then deleted or anonymised.
- Marketing consent and preferences: until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate information corrected.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need.
- Ask us to restrict or object to certain uses.
- Receive information you gave us in a portable format.
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time.
Email sales@redpowerparts.co.uk or call 01226 447017 and we will respond within one month. We may ask for proof of identity before acting on a request.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our suppliers or the law change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last reviewed.
